      4. Today is actually one of those procrastination days where I stay away from the keyboard and just be random. Hope all are excellent there in UK!

And, have a great day too!

      5. Ah yes, I know what you mean… there are days when the thoughts just want to mingle with each other but not offer themselves to the ‘real’ world. Or at least that’s how I try to explain away my procrastination non-writing days. BTW, what does your random look like? For me it often involves long stretches of time when I visit other star systems!!! Sometimes I report back via WordPress, sometimes not 🙂 Wishing you a wonderful day. Michele

    1. Dearest Scott, thank you so much for the nomination. I am sending you a deep well of gratitude. I have read the ‘rules’ and promise to do my duty and pass on the love. I hope you’re having a beautiful day. Michele x

  3. I am moved beyond words that my humble blog attracted your attention.

Thanks for showing interest in what I put out.
I sincerely hope you continue to find my works entertaining & pleasurable.
    Be safe.

  4. Hello again, Michele! Scott from Gnostic Bent here. I’m not sure if I ever told you, but your education, experience and accolades seem oddly similar to some early career goals I set for myself and sadly never reached. I am very impressed and proud for you, of course, but I would be lying if I said some envy and maybe even jealousy weren’t also floating around in there. Unfortunately, I pursued an MA in Creative Writing just before MFA programs started popping up everywhere in the States. In my time, the only ones were so exclusive that I never would have gotten in anyway. I wasn’t a teenage filmmaker, prepubescent & published author or anything like that. However, I was permitted to write a full-length, feature film script for my thesis, along with a critical essay about the genre I selected: film noir. And this from a guy who essentially taught himself to write screenplays, treatments and such (despite preferring to attend a more established, prestigious and formal program at some other institution… like UCLA, for instance… jealous, jealous). At any rate, this also came as my university was first establishing their film program, so I inadvertently became the first grad student to successfully defend not just his thesis, but a film script. Of course, that was my one-and-only achievement in the field, so I couldn’t be more impressed with your resume. Congratulations on the success of “Moonbug,” by the way! I haven’t seen it yet, but I certainly look forward to doing so. Incidentally, I know another documentary filmmaker (an American) who also focuses on social change, primarily with regard to history. His name is Ken Wyatt and his film “Colored Confederates” has been doing pretty well. Is it possible your paths may have crossed, perhaps at a film festival? If not, then it might be worth making the connection/contact, so please let me know your thoughts and I’ll point him at your blog. He’s a great guy who has real passion for his craft. And since his wife and I have worked together for years at the college, I trust and respect him as I would my own brother. You know where to find me, Michele, and not just for the Ken connection. My interest in film and screenwriting is still there, so maybe I can pick your brain sometime, hmmm? Regardless, keep up the good work and know that I wish you nothing but success in all your endeavors. Still a little jealous, though 🙂

    1. Hi Scott,

Thank you so much for your appreciation of my work. Let me say that I am in awe of you! It was fascinating to read about a few of the important choices you’ve made in your life. Successfully defending a thesis AND a film script. Absolutely brilliant. As for me, I feel blessed every day and consider what I do for a living to be an incredible privilege. I started life in an orphanage and the elderly folks who raised me died when I was still a teenager. When I was starting out on this path I told a dear friend of mine that I wanted to put my love into films. Of course, knowing the film industry as we do… it turned out not to be that simple 🙂 And, yes, I would love to be in touch with Ken Wyatt — please go ahead and point Ken in the direction of my blog. And, Scott, please feel free to pick my brain. I am ready and waiting! Have a wonderful day and I wish you every success and the fulfillment of your dreams. M

And do you have a Youtube page or a post with links to some of your work? That’s if you vibed with my work, but even if you don’t I’m interested to see some of your work. 🙂 Peace and be blessed!

      2. Hello Again! Yes I’d love to share some links to my work. Check out this link for some examples of the films I’ve made.

        https://micheledacosta.wordpress.com/2013/04/25/film-links/

Depending on the film, I was either the producer – director – editor – camera — and all of the above! You know 🙂 Would love to hear your thoughts and links to anything you’ve done (or would like to do) that has a similar vibe and sensibility. Thanks again for your interest. Peace and blessings, Michele

  10. Hi Michele,

Well on my about page there are two shorts. Presently setting up a pitch for another fictional film via my rep, but I had to take some time to polish it.

The film is this one: http://glothefilm.blogspot.com/
This is info on the short we were fundraising for but now we are tackling the feature the short was a derivative of. You can also watch the two shorts in my about section. Everything else is old film school stuff found on youtube. But thanks for the interest!!!!! But, how do I get to your work? Another way perhaps?

  40. Dear Michele,
I’m so sorry, I had wanted to share a picture of some Gulmohar trees here (in India) and by error in pasting it, the above amazon link to my book got pasted!
    Regret the inconvenience caused.
And I don’t know how to undo it now ! I’m new on this wordpress site here! 🙂

This is the picture I had actually wished to share with you… ( I had taken it last month when spring had silently sprung in here – this is a picture of the blooms of the Gulmohar tree in my backyard here) Hoping you like it.

  41. I have to say, I originally stopped here because of your name.
Michele, not many of us spell it that way. LOL!
But once here, I fell in love with your words lovely lady. You are a talent in many ways. I will kept my eye on you.
    Much Love
    G

    1. Wow, thank you for your beautiful words. Still to this day I don’t why my mother chose to spell my name with one L — but I give thanks if it meant that out of the blue you would stop my blog. Thanks mum — and thank you, Glynis 🙂

      1. hallo Michele dear…it’s been a while. Tejan and my family are fine, and tired with the heat. Thankfully, the rains have started coming – with flowers sprouting everywhere. And a lot of songs too, from bird and man…uhum.

        Cheers, sweet Michele

        /Elias

  42. Thanks for liking my Tinnitus poems. The “likes” have been rare recently (partly my own fault, maybe; I admit I do absolutely nothing to promote my blog) so it’s much appreciated. Your blog looks absolutely wonderful!

  43. Michele – I followed you to your blog from a comment you left on Hanne’s blog. I am delighted to have found another photographer/poet. I love to combine both of those vehicles of expression myself. In my blog, I started posting some of my original photos and poetry written in response to them under the category: Ekphrastica, if you get a chance to stop by.
BTW, what drew you to study German and Russian? As a multi-lingual myself, just curious, I am originally from German and emigrated to the US as a student. Acquired a few phrases of Russian during a short stint in the Ukraine a while ago.

  44. Dear Michele, your smart with a lot of intelligence and can potentially influence millions of people for the better. My evergreen blogs and books, especially COMMON SENSE are filled with interesting social, political, and economic factual information which frequently separates fact from fiction and hopefully stimulates creative thinking. If you ever run out of ideas for you screen writing recharge them with my writing. Best wishes and enjoy!!! Uldis

  45. You are vivacious. Such a meaningful place here. I am grateful to find your work and I thank you for the goodness that you allow to pass through your heart into our world. Blessed, smiles!

  48. Hi Michele,

I am so glad you found me today, and wrote your sweet comment. I can tell you and I have a lot in common. For example, your choice of backgrounds was one of my original choices on my blog. I know it’s a small thing, but it just shows how minds sometimes think alike. I look forward to learning more about you through your posts and lovely work.

    Lisa

  53. Wow I’ve just read your about page. Two years ago I didn;t even know what this was. I put up one of my photos of wooden mushrooms and dedicated it to you. My song Moon Base Alpha was inspired by dreams of Jim with the astronauts in space. Will put it up next. Where do you get your energy? I’m very slow but have strong spiritual energy now that I know all about my roots within last few years only.. I LOVE the dark twiggy bush with the white light around it. Thanks for looking into my amateur blog which is just a hobby for now.

  54. I’m nominating you for the Sunshine and Versatile Blogger Awards. I love your blog and I wanted to share how much I appreciate what you do. You can find the awards on this link: http://wp.me/p3up8i-5G

  58. Wow Michele, I’ve been following you for a while but for some odd reason I never did check your About page (I usually always do before I follow someone). I guess I simply fell in love with your writing and nothing else mattered 🙂 I had no clue you were so accomplished and had done (and still do) SO much. I somehow stumbled across Jennifer’s post where you and her did a joint poem and that’s where it all happened and light was shed on your heart 🙂 I am so inspired by you and proud of you and definitely have a whole new level of respect for you. Thank you for giving me hope, and showing me that are truly GOOD people out there!!

  59. Thank you for commenting on my poem, it was just a response to someone’s remark. There are other poems on my blog which were perhaps more thought out, but sometimes perhaps the best ones are the simplest.
I think you are an amazing woman, and I’m honoured that you stopped by.

  60. Hey there talented lady! Thanks for liking my Rumi post, and for ‘following’! Much appreciated 😉

    1. Hello Charlie, lovely to hear from you. Yes, good question, I’m intrigued by you. Cybernetic noise is one of my obsessions! And a couple of your key words resonate with me… avant-garde and surrealism. I look forward to following you as you develop and present your perspective on important subjects that are critical to our future.

      1. Looks like you’ve got something in common with cybernetics and its futurism of our cyber-culture. 🙂

I’m going to start posting sometime next Monday my first poem in a long time. I use to post poems on wordpress, I took them down, but I will post them up again…:) You will enjoy my poetry…its not like anyone else on this wordpress community. Trust me…:)

  61. Hi Michele–thanks for introducing yourself by following our site, yours is beautiful and inspirational. It’s so wonderful to find people with such common interests this way! We think you would love India, do you hear it calling?

  63. Dear Michele,

I can’t choose where to place my comments! EVERY poem I read, every gloriously crafted prose creation, and everything I read about your life leave me groping for superlatives. For now, allow me to simply say “Thank You” for the great honor you do me by following my “Randa Lane…” blog:

    Randa Lane blog: http://randalane.wordpress.com

With great pleasure, I now “follow” your writing and photography!

  68. As a new Spikey Michele, you’ve joined a growing clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious; email me.

In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence, particularly from your good self, a media ‘expert’ 🙂 and hope you have a great day…
